The Difference Between MLM And Internet Marketing

When it comes to MLM and internet marketing, they are very comparable.  They both involve selling products or services to internet surfers with the hope of making it big online.  However, you will find MLM has slipped drastically over time while internet marketing has begun to flourish.

There are countless reasons why you want to avoid MLM when pursuing an online career today.  Whether you join an internet marketing company or start one yourself, you will find this option focuses on its target market.  Instead of promoting to anyone and everyone like MLM, internet marketing focuses on marketing to people who are truly interested in what you have to offer.

Social sites, forums and blogs have made it much easier for you to focus on your target market.  You have the ability to talk to people in forums under specific categories assuring you the people you talk to have similar interests.

The truth on MLM and the results it delivers is many times the products are lower-end and ultimately generate smaller incomes.  Typical products you will find within this market include vitamins, beauty products and diet products.  Internet marketing products, on the other hand, are high-end and offer $1000 commissions up-front.  Instead of waiting around for your money, you can start generating immediate income.

As for compensation itself, MLM pays you based on how many people are in your downline and how successful they are doing.  This means if people you have no control over fail, you too are going to suffer.  There is less dependency on others with internet marketing as you receive income the moment you sign on a customer.

As mentioned above, social sites and forums make it incredibly easy to connect with your target market for an internet marketing business.  It is an easy way to generate traffic and increase your profits.  The problem with MLM is distributors have to rely on friends and family to join.  Otherwise, they have to pitch their new business opportunity to anyone within reach, which will only bring minimal results.

The last difference between the two is the cost.  Upfront, you can expect to pay a little more for an internet marketing opportunity.  However, it is typically a one-time fee that will take care of you the rest of the time.  This fee is generally regained rather quickly because of the large commissions you will be earning.  The truth on MLM is that although the start-up costs are lower, you will need to pay a monthly fee to buy and ship the product.

While internet marketing and MLM are comparable, there is no doubt the route you want to take today is internet marketing.  It gives you the chance to make legitimate money with tremendous marketing techniques.
